This is a vintage reproduction offset woodblock print from famous Ukiyo-e artist Hiroshige and his 100 Famous views of Edo. Originally from a set dated from 1974 and produced by Kyodo News Agency in Tokyo.

Print 15 Temple Gardens in Nippori: These are gardens of three temples near Nippori Hill. The Myoryuji Temple (non-existent) first made a garden of azalea flowers in the the precinct in the mid 1700's and others followed suit. This print is unique as misprinting is found in two out of the total of 119 prints from these series. In this print the color is missing in the lower half of the two drooping cherry trees in the foreground; the misprint was corrected in later editions.

Condition: Given age (46 years old), in great condition. Close up photos are provided to show any flaws as well as some of the subtle details Hiroshige added to his art.  Small discoloration streak at bottom left corner border edge and faint discoloration at right border edge.

Dimensions: 9.75" Wide by 14.25" Height

Please note that the paper is thin but high quality and has some light texture to it (it looks and feels like traditional Japanese paper). The size isn't a standard frame size so it will need to be professionally framed to ensure protection and longevity.

This will ship gently rolled up in a rigid cardboard tube.
