The Cotton-Goods Wholesalers Street at Odenmacho: Vintage Reproduction Print From Hiroshige's 100 Famous Views of Edo
This is a vintage reproduction offset woodblock print from famous Ukiyo-e artist Hiroshige and his 100 Famous views of Edo. Originally from a set dated from 1974 and produced by Kyodo News Agency in Tokyo.
Print 8 The Cotton-Goods Wholesalers Street at Odenmacho: To this day, this street is known as a center of textile wholesalers in Tokyo. Two geisha girls in the print are seen gathering the skirts of their kimonos. The wooden gate in the print was closed at 11PM to block through traffic through the street.
Condition: Given age (46 years old), in great condition. Close up photos are provided to show any flaws as well as some of the subtle details Hiroshige added to his art. Faint discoloration spots at edges. Small black dot at back of print but doesn't show through on other side. Small spots in rafters of building.
Dimensions: 9.75" Wide by 14.25" Height
Please note that the paper is thin but high quality and has some light texture to it (it looks and feels like traditional Japanese paper). The size isn't a standard frame size so it will need to be professionally framed to ensure protection and longevity.
